The Strickland Brook Park Streamside Garden is in front of the Cos Cob Library, off Route 1.

From I-95 (the New England Thruway):

Exit 4 Indian Field Road. From New York and central Greenwich: Turn LEFT off the ramp and proceed as below.* From Stamford: Turn RIGHT off the ramp and proceed as below.*

*Drive north on Indian Field Road about one mile to East Putnam Avenue (Route 1). Turn RIGHT onto Route 1 (North). Proceed to the third traffic light at the firehouse. Turn LEFT turn onto Sinawoy Road. The library and parking are on the RIGHT, directly behind the firehouse. The garden is along the stream in front of the library building.

West Fair Hort Strickland Brook Park 2008 Volunteer Work Dates

West Fair Hort Members volunteer to maintain the streamside garden at Strickland Brook Park in Cos Cob, Connecticut. The work sessions are held monthly during the growing season. Cora Burnham, professional horticulturist and West Fair Hort Board Member, leads our group of volunteers to maintain this charming garden of shrubs and perennials that is enjoyed by the community.

Volunteer Recognition 2007

Cora Burnham and the WFHS Board want to personally thank the dedicated volunteers who gave their precious time and energy to beautifully maintain the Strickland Brook Garden during the 2007 season.

Kate Liba and Jerry Gleason - always willing and able to tackle anything

Tony Marzullo - for faithfully watering and keeping watch on the garden

Mary Ann and Norm Hoberman, Judy Steinberg, Mary and Stewart Coan - for getting down on their hands and knees time and time again

John Shalvoy - generously sharing his crew of helpers

Mark and Carrie Greenwald - for their donation of spring annuals and crew of helpers

Juanito Duque and his crew - for their many strenuous efforts during spring cleanup

Lindy Weaver, a Cos Cob neighbor - for her very generous donation of a multitude of day lilies

Bill Burgess, Town of Greenwich - for replacing the topsoil and adding boulders to help hold the stream bank after extensive flooding in the spring

Thank you one and all for keeping our special spot beautiful and thriving for others to enjoy. We encourage more of you to join us this season to share the garden and camaraderie.

Plaque: Since 2000, West Fair Hort members have designed, planted, and continue to maintain the Strickland Brook Park streamside garden with wonderful help from the Town of Greenwich and the Cos Cob Association.
